One day a while ago, as I was fixing lunch, I conjured an image of my old boyfriend with a new partner, and that made my heart hurt. As I thought that thought, I could feel the energy gather, condense, and stagnate in my heart. Then I remembered that it’s my job to keep the energy flowing in me, and that I control this primarily by the thoughts that I think. That motivated me to quickly move toward thoughts that felt better.
Interestingly, Chinese Medicine says that negative emotion causes energy stagnation and blockages in the body, which can then lead to disease.
